Always backup your db and any files to be modified just to be safe. These types of modifications are not a simple plug and play kind of install. I am not responsible for any loss of data nor does this script come with any guarantee. This script is provided as is.
If you choose webview simply upload the view-count.php to your public_html ( or whichever directory you have PlayTube installed to ) and go to yourdomain.com/view-count.php
Try Optimized first, if this doesn't work, your server may not support curl and you will need to use the Normal version.
For Cron same concept, but I also added versions that send emails. Choose if you want only error emails or error and success emails.
This will be a different install path. You need to one directory before your public_html.
Then go to cPanel -> Cron
Setup a command with the following
php -q -f /home/CPANELUSERNAME/view-count.php
If you for some reason do not know your cPanel username I have added in info.php. Simply add this file to your public_html and go to yourdomain.com/info.php
Search for DOCUMENT_ROOT
For the rest of the cron config
This will run everyday at 2AM server time.
Do I do that right? What to do if it works?I tried running and it reported 500 errors
php -q -f /home/vntubexy/view-count.php
You should also move the view-count.php from /home/vntubexy/public_html/ to /home/vntubexy/
If you would like me to set this up for you, please email me.
Keep in mind if you use the cron version, you won't be able to access it via your browser, as it's not uploaded to the public directory.
@Studiomks you're welcome. 🙂
I sent an email to you . Thanks very much
I sent an email to you . Thanks very much
You had the cron setup correctly, although you chose the version that only emails you if there is an error. Not sure if you meant to choose that version.
Also I uploaded the web version so you could see it working
Note: Only Admin user can access this file.
thank you very much
Just wanted to say thank you, it is working great.
You're welcome. Should have YouTube Status Checker updated soon. Been pretty slammed with my day job, but it's coming.
Cron job support has been added to the YouTube Dead Video Detector For PlayTube
Hi is it possible to import likes to? Would be great
After digging into this more, I don't think this would be a good idea to pursue at this time. Reason being, each like is stored in the database. The issue with this is the like/dislike table would become larger than the entire database. The only way to push this would be to create a copy for each like, but with some videos having 100 of thousands of likes, this would put way too much strain on the database. The only way around this would be to heavily modify the way the like system works, and I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to push this heavy of a modification to each PlayTube update. I may be able to add a like and dislike column to the database and adding the additional likes and dislikes into the existing code, but this would still create additional unneeded queries. It would be best if PlayTube themselves changed the way the system stored the data, but this is highly unlikely as their method is very secure against like/dislike spam.
It's possible, but I no longer actively maintain any of these scripts. I did Vigeos for 2 years and ended up losing time and money, so I stopped working on it to spend time with my new girlfriend.
I may get back into the script by re-purposing it for another idea I had, but here lately I've lacked the motivation to put in time and money into a startup as all of my ideas have been failing (also may have to do with breakup). I've just been deciding to enjoy life a bit more.
It really wouldn't be difficult to modify though, it would just need to check the listed date to see if it's 30 days or earlier and only process if it meets that condition. I'm not familiar with any API v3 changes, but I still have the script running with over 10,000 videos.
